Short bio:
Neroth, the coalescence of black metal and classical female vocals. Neroth is a black metal band formed in Eindhoven, the Netherlands in the late summer of 2020. Inspired by old school, 90’s-esque black metal, nature, the dark aspects of life and death and the misanthropic essence of the modern age, Neroth aims for a dark, atmospheric, and intense sound. In June 2022 Neroth released their debut EP called “Nocturnal Woods”. Currently Neroth is working on a full-length album which will be recorded in April and May 2024.
Long bio:
Early in 2020, around February while guitarist Ihmset was roaming the heather fields and forests of the Veluwe in Gelderland the Netherlands the core idea of Neroth was born. The idea, to expand on the foundations of the raw atmosphere of black metal and look for new boundaries to set foot on. The idea to create a coalescence between black metal and classical female vocals. A few months later, in September 2020 Neroth arose, a new entity, a new sound, a new atmosphere. Hailing from Eindhoven, the band at this time consisted of four members all sharing a common mission.
Inspired by the dark aspects of life and death, the misanthropic essence of the modern age, nihilism, and nature, Neroth aims for a dark, melodic, atmospheric, and intense sound.
During 2021 Neroth wrote their debut EP called Nocturnal Woods. Consisting of four songs, with a span just under half an hour, the EP deals with themes as death, loss, grief, darkness and nihilism. The EP was recorded in November 2021 in Eindhoven. Released on the 10th of June in 2022, the effort was received well by fans all over Europe and beyond, reaching fans as far as New Zealand, the United States of America, Australia, Mexico, and Brazil.
Ever since the release of Nocturnal Woods, Neroth played successful shows at venues and festivals like Dynamo in Eindhoven, Patronaat in Haarlem, Bibelot in Dordrecht, De Pul in Uden and Baroeg Open Air 2022 in Rotterdam. The year of 2024 saw the first Neroth show abroad at a packed Waldmeister in Solingen, Germany.
Currently Neroth is working on the follow up record to Nocturnal Woods which will be recorded in April and May 2024.
